Last days of German Heli Masters

After hard work with second round of setmanouvers on saturday morning, (finish 7th place again there), went back to the hotel for preparing for Fly to Music in the afternoon. Sometimes life as heli pilot is not so hard to cope with!

Seems like my choice of preparation for Fly to Music paid off, over all standings at saturday evening means Im in 5th place and well into the finals as there is 10 pilots in the sunday finals...

Getting some private time to focus during the finals.

Did not reach the podium this time, Eric Weber and Kyle Dahl was competing in a class by themselves, but after them we where six pilots, withing very close points that could have ended either way. For me it was a 7th place this time, happy with that even if I lost 2 positions since saturday evening. As always I feel that I want to come back and make it even better next time!

Oh my god! Feeling relived after coming back for some adjustment on the top score setmanouver, Rainbow X Reversal. Eric Webers caller was kind enough to tell us we fly it the wrong way, not allowed to turn the tail 90 deg after each rainbow. So we rush off to a quite place nearby to try it out again, and actually found out it was easier this way. Only to be told when we come back that some other pilots had the same misunderstanding, there was a glitch between the german and english translation, and the judges decided that it was allowed with both versions! Grrr...

I heard about october party in Bayern, didn't want to miss it even its only september still, ha ha...

Getting prepared for tomorrow

Today we have been at the field to check it out and done some flights to get warmed up. But I did not get warmed up because it was freezing cold! Now the sun starts to revile itself but then it gets windy instead…….

Now I’m waiting for the batteries to get recharged so that we can go out and fly some more. Then tomorrow it’s show time!

Set Manouvers result

Have to say I’m more than happy with first day results! When I first saw the starting list I was thinking, man, this will be tough! And now with just tailing names like Duncan Osbourn and Nick Maxwell and putting Lukas Riva and Jamie Robertson behind, even if I might not reach the final, I’m very content and will give it all in the Free Style and Flight to Music. This year it’s really hard, ALL the best pilots are here!

Today is competition day! We have been on the flying site and gone through the registration and got some pictures take. Just recently we ate some lunch on the hotel, and are now slacking on our room so we are fresh when the Masters setmaneuvers starts.

Today me and dad woke up 7 o’clock, that’s early! The reason why we got up that early was so we could have the field almost for ourselves to try out the maneuvers at the actual competition site. When we got up from our beds we went down and enjoyed the hotel breakfast which I have to say was very good. After the breakfast we went to fly, and flying went really well I think. I hope for the best tomorrow!

Now I have left my grandparents in Smygehuk and are heading for the 3D Masters in Venlo. We have just driven on to the ferry. We got ourselves a happy surprise when we got in to our cabin, it’s in the front of the ferry so we can se everything almost from the same viw as the captain!!!

Best meeting in a long time! Great fun, very nice people and truly awesome weather!

Japp the weather was that good, 26 degrees something I think. So nice!

Yes, sad. But at list he made a spectacular crash. The plane was traveling along the tarmac runway in about 150 km/h and the plane went absolutely straight in to the ground! The plane stopped but the battery kept on skidding 100 m on the ground and cough fire.

Today in Sweden it’s a religious holiday and maybe in other countries as well, I don’t really know….. Nevertheless, because today is a holiday it was not school and a flight meeting. Because it was a meeting me and dad went on it J The Paldalen meeting was both good and bad. It was raining quite a lot! But also three unusual and quite exciting things happened.

If you haven’t noticed he has crashed! J don’t really know why but if he now did crash I think it’s good that he made it properly. In fact he made it so properly that the battery burst into flames. I didn’t want to say it when the owner of the plane stod by me but I think it was awesome to see the totally disintegrated airplane with the burning battery at the side. I have never seen a battery catch fire before. But I feel very sorry for the owner of the plane, it looks expensive!

”Is the battery to swollen or do you think it’s ok to still fly with?” No sorry mate, I’m afraid you’ll have to buy a new one……

More smoke! This time from a T-rex 450 scale model with onboard firecrackers . Also something I’ve never seen before, it was really cool!

It came a full scale helicopter and did a show flight, that was cool! It’s always very powerful when a full scale helicopter flies by.

I was flying the old Logo 500 SE because I didn’t have the 12 tooth pinion I needed to fly the Logo 600. (In Denmark I could fly the 600 because I had borrowed a different engine and the reason for that is that the pinion was stuck on the engine axel, so I had to borrow the whole engine. Soon though I will get my 12 tooth pinion and then it will be some serious rock ’n’ roll with the Logo 600!

This weekend me and dad have been in Denmark at the Pitchbrothers heli smack down, with my brand new Logo 600 that I just finished in the motorhome on the way to the meeting. This year I’m also running a brand new setup: Futaba BLS 451 servos, Scorpion engine, Kontronik Jive 80 HV ESC, 10s 4500 mAh DesirePower batteries and I don’t think I have to mention the V-bar…..! I have just flown the heli about 10 flights but so far I’m very pleased with the setup! The Pitchbrothers heli smack down meeting was very fun, lots of good pilots, breathtaking flights, nice people and also one heck of a party but for me, no drinking! Over all I think the weekend turned out quite good, ok weather, nice flying and the heli was brought home in one piece!

F3N information day

Today was like an information day for the F3N competition that’s going to take place tomorrow.
With Stefan Wolf from Germany instructing us I think this day have given us a lot! At least me and dad went “aaha, that’s how they make the scoring!” and if my registration at Munich Helimaster gets accepted I think without this education it would be hard to hit some high scores! So I really think this day was very useful, and to learn how the judges makes the scoring I think will help me very much in coming future competitions.

Oh, you better watch out, this are the seriously cool guys, me, Richard and Stoffe! ;)

On my way to Stockholm

Now I'm sitting on the train on my way to Stockholm. This time I'm going to stay in Stockholm for a while because I'm going to have a nonstop training period with dad, and it's going to be some meetings and competitions. Will enjoy this weeks, because it's fun to be in Stockholm, to fly every day, do some activity in the afternoons and hang out with friends in the evenings!

Few more flights today and it only confirms yesterdays experience, 8S is da shit! The current setup works so smooth together and still gives me the power I need to do all the new power consuming 3,0 K set maneuvers!

Today I have been testing my new 8s pack that I received earlier this week. It’s so fun to just throw around the helicopter the first times when you’re not used to the power! But it still isn’t this insane power which I think is good, because you won’t become a good pilot if you just move up to 10s to be able to do the manouvers, you have to master all the manouvers first, only then you can give the machine more power, at least that’s what I think ;) Now when I have been fooling around a bit with the power in the 8s I’m going to get more serious and continue practicing. And I think 8s with the bigger engine was just what I needed!

The setup I’m running on now is:
FlightPower EON-X 4350 mAh 8s
Plettenberg 30-12 Heli Expert
18 teeth herringbone
Jeti Spin 99
Futaba BLS 451 and BLS 251 on the tail.
And of course the V-Bar system!

I am so happy with that setup, I have seen peoples with a little more of this and a little more of that in their setups and it might be better in specific situations, but I still think that in overall performance my current setup is outstanding, at least for my flightstyle. And now with the 8s pack and the bigger Plettenberg 30-12 Heli Expert its just as good as it can get! It’s even easy, I don’t use any governor or stuff like that it just matches full power!

I think the helicopter even LOOKS better with the long thin 8s pack!

The first helicopter meeting of the year!

So nice to go on the first helicopter meet of the year! Especially when it’s such nice weather as it was this weekend. On Saturday I was a bit tired, the day before dad had been working on the Skyline to about 10 o’clock so when we had reached Stockholm it was about 1 o’clock in the morning! In the morning me and dad made us a fruit shake to get some power for the day. We got to the meet a bit early but it was ok because it was SO nice to just sit in the sun and relax! Then after a while peoples started to drop in and we all had a great time with talking to each other and flying. The next day wasn’t bad either, it was a meet in Västerås with full scale airplanes such as the: P51 Mustang, Spitfire, Yak and the awesome Jas 39 Gripen. Those planes are so cool to se flying the speed, sound and looks, they are super cool! And that day it was just as good weather as the day before, clear blue sky an about 27 degree Celsius, what a weekend!

Finally I got my chance to sit in a Swedish jet fighter, respect!

The more you see how the jet fighters looks inside the less you want to fly in them. For example what had happened if this cable came off during flight?

The P 51 Mustang and the Spitfire. This was the first time in my life I saw them in real life, and man was that cool! The sound, looks and the fact that they are older than my dad, what great machines!

Wing walking wasn’t that dramatic to look at but cool to think how it would be to stand there, I would newer dare to stand on the wings!

Before the show flights started Ferrari was there and showing off with their latest cars and that was pretty cool also.

Flying at Jockes place!

Hello everybody!

It has been a while sins last time But now I’m back on track!

This weekend I have been at Jockes place, I have had such a great time! To come to Stockholm I took the bus same as last time with the card board box but this time the bus driver wasn’t so glad to see that I had a huge box with me, he told me I can’t bring so much stuff. Little bit silly I think, it was plenty of room in the bus luggage compartment! Two and a half hours later I was in Stockholm and dad picked me up at the bus station and we took off to Jocke! When we got there we put the batteries on charge right away! While we were waiting for the batteries to get fully charged we played around some with Jockes 1:10 buggy, man that was fun! But the real fun started when the batteries were fully charged! Jocke lives in the countryside, so it was just 200 meters to a big open field, perfect to fly on. And man was it great weather that day! Not one single cloud on the whole sky, perfectly still and maybe 15 degrees ! The flying itself was really great, both for Jocke and me I think! After we had flown, some of Jockes friends came and guess what, they got a lemon canon with them, built from plastic tubes and powered by canned starting gas! Of course they wanted to show how cool it was so we went to a suitable are with no people to shot some lemons. My god, it was powerful! The canon throws the lemons at least a couple 100 meters, fun stuff! Then it was pretty much the end of the day, we did kind of the same things the next day, I mean why change a winning concept?!?

Protecting the helicopters!

On Monday I’m going to continue my internship at Söders rc in Stockholm. I’m really looking forward to that, because Joacim Goransson and Richard Sandhen is working there, two guys that’s really kind and really funny! To get to Stockholm I’m taking a bus, because dad is abroad. I’m taking my helicopters with me, so that when I don’t work I can fly, turned out that despite my broken arm I can fly!!!! But to bring the helicopter with me on the bus I need some protection, and that’s what I have been working on this morning! When I was working at Full Kontroll I got permission to take a cardboard box home with me, so I used that as foundation. Then I put on four rails under the box so I could stick a stripe through the box round the rail then throw the box again and tight it around the skids on the helicopters, also before I put the helicopters in the box I laid a stripe of double fastening tape on each skids. To be on the safe side I didn’t stop there, I continued with putting a plastic bag over the canopy on each helicopter, then I put in some foam. On top of that I filled the box to the edge with newspapers! Now I think my helicopters going to be a 100% safe on the bus!

Now I’m really looking forward to working at Söders rc, I have a feeling it’s going to be super fun!!!!

Internship!

Today was my first day with my internship or PRAO as we call it in Sweden, that I’m doing at the nearest hobbydealer here in Orebro. First I didn’t have so much to do, they just told me how they run the store, where they get all the stuff from, and how they ship it etc. Then we just sat down for a while and talked to each other, and after that it was back to work for me, but they didn’t really know what work to put me on, so I ended up cleaning the building table, and my god that was a mess! It took me more than 2 hours! When I was finally done it was time for some food, mmmm! After lunch we played some ping pong that was so fun! But when you are working you can’t just have fun all the time, so we went back to work again. This time my work was to write about myself on their blog, and I just wrote that I am in the store, and also the story how I came in to this helicopter hobby, when I was done we published it and shipped away to engines. After that they had to think again what job to put me on. I got to saw out some shelves, and not just one, man, it took forever, it took so long that I didn’t manage to finish it until it was time to go home. So tomorrow I’m going to continue with the shelves!

Pretty fun day actually, looking forward to tomorrow!

Bad news!

Last week I was on a ski holiday with my family to Salen. It was really fun! Lot of snow, and a great fun park. Everything was running smoothly and I made some real cool jumps, until I slipped on a rail and broke my arm, so now I won’t be able to fly! :’( But lucky you don’t fly so much this time of the year anyway!

Today I have spent my day with my sister at her place. But I didn’t really start my day at my sisters place, I started out the day with having brunch with mum and my youngest brother (the one that’s so skilled with computers). Really nice restaurant, it’s inside a football arena, and that’s cool! Also because the restaurant is pretty high above the ground you get a nice view of the city. Then after eating some good food we went home, and I started to play some video games while waiting for my sister’s boyfriend who was going to pick me up. The first thing we did when we arrived was to fly some helicopter! While it still was some daylight. And the flying went really well! Then we went inside and watched TV for a while, then me and my sister drove her boyfriend to some friend. At that moment the time was 6:30 pm so my sister cooked some dinner while I was starting the fire. The food was really good. At the same time we ate the food we were watching a movie “Tropic thunder”. And now we are going to watch another movie “walle”, then probable go to sleep

Designing sweater!

For a long time I have been thinking of designing and printing my own sweaters, but for that I need help that’s not so easy to get! My 17 year old brother is a seriously good and experienced digital designer, he even goes at John Bauer, a school for digital design, programming, animating etc. But brothers you know! Not always prepared to do you a favor, but now! Now I finally got him to help me, tjoho! When we started to work the first thing he said was that my logotypes I had wasn't good enough. Damn! He explained the logotypes needed to be in vector quality, so we came no where! Instead of doing the design me and dad ended up writing to my sponsors, asking for the logos with vector quality. Now I already have received some logos, but soon I hope I will have all logos so I can do the design, send it in to O-tema that’s going to print the whole thing, then they going to lay out my design on a sweater (on the computer) send it back to me. If I think it looks good they just print it on the sweater, then I will have my own unique super cool sweater! The id´ea is to have 6 sweaters, 3 for dad and 3 for me so we can change when we are on longer events, especially when we are in Spain, where it’s probably going to be hot! We are also going to have a hood each, if it’s possible to get them in the same color. Hope all this will go smoothly so the sweaters can be done as soon as possible so I can start to wear them. Now that we finally started to work on this I’m so eager to get it done soon, and exited, because I always have had this picture in my head, how cool it will look with this sweater on films and pictures. They will also be practical, because I will have all my sponsor names on one sweater. So if it’s just a one day event I can still advertise for all my sponsors, and even for myself! That’s just super!

Working with the set manoeuvers

Yesterday the entry form for 3D Masters got available, and dad didn’t come home in time to help me fill out the form, so instead that’s what we been busy doing today. We started out with reading through all the manoeuvers, and discovered they were damn hard! We picked out some manoeuvers we thought suited me good, and then we proved them in the simulator to test so the manoeuvers wasn’t too hard for me to complete. The manoeuvers were really difficult! But I did complete all manoeuvers, but let’s not talk about how they looked :) I have a lot to work on! But at least this year I’m not going to do the same mistake as last year, when I thought that choosing a manoeuver with low k and do them well was a winning tactic, but it really wasn’t. This year I have 22.5 k so I hope to be more successful in set manoeuvers this year. After we sorted out the manoeuvers, and tested them, we of curse had to go out and test them for real. The weather wasn’t that good so I weren’t too happy to go out and practice, but I really needed to, so out we went! When we came to the flying ground the weather didn’t feel too bad, dad sad “I think the weather is pretty ok, and not so much wind!” of course we got punished for saying that! It started to blow and it got freezing cold it just came from no were! And I could hardly see the helicopter because the cold wind makes tears in my eyes. Because the manoeuvers are really difficult and the weather was killing me I didn’t fly the manoeuvers, because I thought it was too big risk. The weather I flew in today was probably the worst I ever flown in!!!

Kristinehamn!

This weekend and week I have been really busy flying wich is great! Started out on the hobby fair in my hometown Orebro, the fair started on Saturday and continued until Sunday. It was fun being there especially because it was not just for rc it was for all kinds of hobbies. It was trampolines, cross, race cars, go-carts, bikes, etc. The best thing was that all simulators, trampolines and stuff were free to test, super fun! Because it’s many sports you never tested, and at the fair you had the chance. But one bad thing, it was the local club that organized the whole thing, so me and dad had to weare the home made t-shirts with the clubs logo, so no sponsor t-shirts. Then on Sunday the fair closed at 5 o’clock, and 6 o’clock it was the regular indoor fly, so it was just strait home to eat some supper and then go to the hall were we fly. And like that wasn’t enough, the next day it was the yearly indoor meet in Kristinehamn, were it’s a huge sports arena, for indoor football and really high to the ceiling! That’s the best indoor event of the year if you ask me, big crowd and lots of nice people to talk with! Kristinehamn is a great place to be seen at because every year it’s the local television, and the local newspaper. One cool thing with being in Kristinehamn is that all the best Swedish airplane pilots are there, so you get some competition! It’s also some good helicopter pilots for example Daniel. Also fun because all the people I work together with is there, for example Joakim Goransson and claes Meijer, not so often I see them, and that’s to bad because they are really nice persons that always has a good advise and always gives support when its needed! This last four days has been really fun and I have enjoyed it! Really fun that it has been so much flying, because now it’s going to be a while until to the next event. New Year is awesome! Have not done so much to day except for buying some fireworks! And that’s all you need to do to complete New Year’s Day! 10 minutes before 12 o’clock we listened to the annual old guy saying some strange words! Then 12 o’clock ooh yea! Champagne, candy, fireworks and best of all a New Year! Thanks for this year, and I hope you all will have a super 2009!

Now I really need some sleep, good night!

Christmas!

I know this don’t have anything to do with helicopters, but any way I must write about Christmas! As usual I’m one day late with writing on the blog, didn’t go to bed until half past one in the morning! So yesterday, Christmas, was super! Got up about 9 o’clock to eat some breakfast with almost all my brothers, that’s not every day! Then as all Christmases before we got to open one Christmas gift in the morning, and the morning gift was from my brother Kalle, it was a pair of shoes, cool shoes! After every body opened their Christmas gifts me and Fredrik ,my oldest brother, went upstairs and played some computer games and flew my new RealFlight G4.5 that I got about 4 days ago, forgot to mention that so I do it now, better late than never you know ;) then when we had played for a while Kalle and his fiancé Frida came about 12 o’clock, and that was kind of exiting because Kalle is just home maybe 3-4 times a year, so you nearly get nerveous to see him. After welcoming them we sat down and eat some lunch. About 1 o’clock we had finished eating and then it was only 2 hours left to the real Ohlson family Christmas invitation, were the real fun begins! But 2 hours is a long time to wait when you don’t have anything to do, so me and Fredrik took the simple option to continue playing computer games! When you do have something fun to do like computer games time goes really fast! So it just snapped and the clock was 3 and peoples started to drop in, and when we all greeted each other we sat down in our living room and started with the Christmas snack witch cakes, candy and all god tasting Christmas candy you need! And every body talked to each other, maybe too much…. It’s hard to listen to every one and be interested when you know the rest of the Christmas gifts is laying under the Christmas tree and just waiting for me to open them! But they say that Santa knows if you been bad or good so I held out and joined the conversations! Then after speaking for a while the food was ready, and that was about time, I was starving! And when every body taken their food it got quiet, because the food was so good, and it was so plenty of it! Of course after finishing the dinner we sat and talk to each other for some hours again, and still no Christmas gifts! But after just an hour or so we started to open the Christmas gifts, TJOHOO! And the first gift I opened was a mini laptop which I’m writing on now, I’m super happy with it! And I have already installed V-bar on it. Second gift I opened was 3 caps, then a t-shirt and many more gifts but don’t know in my head every thing I got because it was many presents! Oh, wait, I forgot to mention, I got some $$$$, and that can be handy as I don’t have so much. Then when I thought it was all over it wasn’t, turned out that the best present was still to come. Dad came home in a tuned Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R, I just ran out and jumped into the car and dad took us for a ride, and damn, that’s the fastest car I ever bin in, holy crap how it goes!
So shortly I can say I had a super great Christmas, and the Skyline was just the best possible way to end the Christmas! Hope you also had a really great Christmas! See you all on New Year!

This is how small my computer is! And I’m super happy with it, because it still has all functions that a normal computer has. And it comes with Windows Vista original! One more good feature is that the keyboard has normal sized buttons, so I can easily write on the blog!

Spain!

Really good news! Today I got an email from 3D Masters head quarter, it says that the biggest 3D event, 3D Masters, will be held in Murcia in Spain, Sweet! It’s going to be on a golf course, and the flying will be on the driving range. It’s promised: unlimited Night Flying, no noise constraints and virtually guaranteed good weather. One more awesome thing is that the sea is just 20 minutes away from the flying field, and with dad driving its just 15 minutes away! in the evening it’s also going to be some contests with night flying and Synchronic flying, that’s going to be fun! Me and dad plan to go there a week before the event and have a holiday, and bring the family if they want to come…. The rest of the family is not that interested in helicopter, just me and dad. But maybe that’s just nice, then they don’t have to ask so many questions and be with me all the time, or maybe not who knows?? Oh I can't wait! It’s going to be the most fun thing I ever experience so far in my RC helicopter career and maybe even the most fun thing I ever experience so far in my life!! Don’t have so many details but if I get some more I will update you! And one more awesome thing, this evening it was christmas ending in school And I got my first grades, and it was totally ok! So now I can fly all day long as long as the weather lets me, that’s great!

Sorry for not writing about Saturday until now, got pretty late yesterday….. Anyway, better soon then never! It did stop snow, so I could practice! First thing I did when I woke up was to put the battery on charge, then I woke dad up, and headed down to eat breakfast, then we drove right away to the field where I use to fly. We had to dig out a landing/starting spot and then practice some set maneuvers, went really well! Went home, eat some lunch so that I was sharp on round two of set maneuvers. Daylight time is not so long here in Sweden at the moment so I didn’t manage to do a third round….. So instead I did ride some snowboard with Lucas (my brother), and his friend, that was really fun! I think it’s fun to do different things because you can’t do the same thing your whole life and always think it’s fun, you need some change sometimes. I think also if you have a hobby you like it gets even more fun if you do something else once in a while. Now back to yesterday. After riding snowboard and eating dinner me and dad went to my sister (Anna) and made some Christmas candy! But it ended up like this, Anna and dad making Christmas candy and me watching TV, and after a while I even fell asleep! Then they woke me up and sad that the candy was done, I got to taste if they were good, I can tell they were!!! Then it was time to go home, and when we got home I just fell in to the bed!

Me digging my way forward. I had to dig a way to the start/landing spot so my feets dont get wet! Because the snow were quite heavy...

For like one week ago it was snowing pretty match, but luckily the snow melted right away! This times not the same….. Starting from yesterday until now it has snowed nonstop, and it’s still snowing! Also on the weather the say it’s going to continuo snowing on Monday and it’s going to get colder so I think the snow has come to stay! Not good for the flying, or the helicopter. But it has to snow more to stop me! If it stops snowing on some of the day light hours I will take dad with me and a shovel, and we will dig out a land and start spot, and no autos just in case ;) I also have a backup plan if it doesn’t stop snowing, than I’m going to take my brother out in the garden and build a snowboard jump in front of our start ramp, and that’s also going to be fun! So what ever happens tomorrow I’m going to have super fun, hope you also going to!

Two weeks ago it turned out that one of my friends from school has a fader who’s working with painting trucks. Awesome! On the evening I took the way by him and handed owe the canopy. Then everything left was to wait, which I’m not good at! I tried not to ask too many times in school if the canopy was finished, but it’s hard. And it took a while before it got done, he probably had lots of jobs that he had to get done with before he could start with my canopy, but that’s okay I can wait for two weeks when the price just is 100 kr, and he does it good!

Finally don’t have to wait any more, the canopy is done! And it looks really nice!

Now the canopy is smooth and looks all shiny!

Indoor fly!

Yesterdays indoor fly was really fun, Stefan was there (one guy from the club who runs an rc store) really fun person, he always has a fun story to tell :) If you wasn’t flying you where sitting and laughing at Stefan! The flying went pretty good until it didn’t …….. I let the picture explain that bit :) Then after that we went home because dad needed to drive to Stockholm, so he could be at work this morning! Practising reversing pirouettes

Today was really fun I managed to do 3 flights today also, it just feels better and better for every flight! On my old T-rex 600 it was a invisible failure so the helicopter couldn’t pirouette clock wise which is the wrong way for me, so I haven’t been able to practice reversing pirouettes…… now it’s not the same with the Logo so I have started to practice reversing pirouettes, and it’s going really well!

19.30 this evening the indoor fly starts and that’s also going to be super fun, but I will not write anything about it until tomorrow, because otherwise it’s going to be too late!

Rock n Roll !

Today it was some serious rock n roll! I flew 3 times, between the flights when we went home and charged the batteries me and dad changed to winter tires on our car. When we were changing tires my brother came out and he said he was going to ride skis with his friends and it was no snow! But we have a hockey arena, and when they have picked up the ice with the ice polishing machine they dump it in the parking lot, and that little snow my brother and his friends uses to build something of and ride on it, hard working guys! Now I start to feel like home with the Logo and the V-bar. It takes some time to get use to the V-bar, and get to the point where you feel the setup is exactly like you want it, DOSENT MATTER! When you have come to that point the Logo flies like a dream! No use to explain how good the Logo is, you have to experience it yourself! I can’t wait for tomorrow, then I going to fly even more advanced, harder and lower, that’s going to be fun. After that the fun doesn’t stop because then it’s time for the indoor fly! This is how weird it looked!

Earlier this week I’ve made some changes in the V-Bar that I planned to test in the weekend, but Saturday was half storm……… Then Sunday looked good so I got up and charge the batteries, end when the last battery was finished I was like “yea, now it’s going to be some serious rock n roll!” But guess what….. It started to snow! And the weird thing is that it was like 5 degrees Celsius. It didn’t stop snowing either so it looks like not going to be any flying :( Instead I started to help my dad fix new floor in the guestroom at home. But finally when it looked like it was too late, started to get dark, then it stopped snowing! So as quickly as we could, we packed the helicopter and the transmitter and we drove to the field were we usually fly, but only managed to do one flight before it was too dark. That’s ok because I just wanted to see if the new settings worked. Then it was pretty much just off too the indoor flying right away. During the summer I forgot how fun the indoor fly is, and after first takeoff I remembered how bad my plane was from last season! Everything was working and just started it up from last season but the tail is not straight… Doesn’t matter because it still does good rolling circuits :) Also I hovered around whit the Logo. A 600 sized helicopter feels very much bigger indoor even if it is a pretty big hall. I can’t wait for nest weekends indoor fly!!!

Perhaps you can’t see, but it is snow in the air!

If you can’t rock n roll whit your Logo you have too rock n roll with something else!

Mechanicel session whit Claes Meijer

Today I got a visit by Claes Meijer, he had some problems whit his helicopter…….. I’m not the best at working whit helicopters but now that I’ve been in the hobby for like 3 years I have added some experience, so at least I can give some help. But unluckily after working for few hours we discovered something with the electronics was wrong, and we didn’t have parts to replace with :(

Now dad is back home with the canopy! It looked good on the pictures, but in real, man! But the clear cote was not so good….. Melin had bought new clear cote and my canopy got to be the “test shot”, but no problem, I’m going to fix it, I know a good car painter nearby I will let them put a couple layers of the “real shit” clear cote! Then everybody will just be standing drooling over my helicopter!!!

Canopy

Last week I spent thinking how the design of my canopy is going to look like, and I been searching a lot on the internet for some ideas. I found one seriously cool canopy on Heli Freak that I totally fallen for! Then I started to Photoshop it right away, not making any major changes, just took away some small things and added some new cool things. Fredrik “Mr Mel” Melin is the one that got the responsibility to paint the canopy, he lives in Stockholm and that’s perfect because my dad works in Stockholm. So I handed over the canopy to dad, and when he went to work he dropped by Mr Mel and gave him the canopy. And now it’s finished! “Tjohoo”. But I haven’t seen it with my own eyes yet, because dad comes home whit the canopy tomorrow evening. Can’t wait to put it on the helicopter!!!

Hobby Fair

So, now the weekend has come to an end. It has been a really nice weekend! Having really fun and meeting some new nice people!

Friday: me and dad got up about 7 o’clock directly hop into the shower, then make some breakfast and of course the fruit power smoothie to be able to cope with the day! When breakfast was finish we took the car to the local football field to take some flights with the brand new Logo just to try it out, and then it was off to the hobby fair. As always it was hard to find a parking place. When we came in and got our tickets we begun searching for the safety area where we should fly, it was not too hard to find at the end of the hall. When we could see the flying area we realized it was too small to fly the logo and too dangerous, but we were lucky, Richard and Daniel was there so I borrowed Richards 450 heli. But even the 450 was quite big in the small area! Then the contest begun (Slyter cup) it’s a tricky course and a really difficult one! First lifting the helicopter was a bit nervous but after to figure eights I got more confident and comfortable and ended up winning, tjohoo! After the contest everybody was hungry so we took the car to mine and dads favorite India restaurant, I ordered Tika Mazala with nan bread. Then back to the fair again to do some more contest and demo flights! And then at 7 pm the fair closed for the day, so we got home and relax.

Saturday: got up about 7 o’clock, shower again, want to look fresh when representing the sponsors, ha ha, breakfast, smoothie, fly the Logo at the football field, go to the hobby fair, pretty much the same as Friday. Doing the Slyter cup, flying eights, tipping bottles, lifting hooks, really fun actually! Then eat at the same restaurant, why change a winning concept?!? I Got back home pretty early, because not much left to do at the fair.

On Sunday was Richards brothers birthday so he couldn’t come but I needed his helicopter so I took it home whit me. Sunday: same again, got up 7 o’clock, shower, breakfast, smoothie but this time I didn’t fly the Logo at the field instead I took the chance to fly Richards 450 so I could test some maneuvers I could do at the fair! This time it was not the same at the fair because Sunday were more focused on helicopter. First me and Daniel did a show flight at maybe 11 o’clock, then we drove to the restaurant and I ordered tika mazala as usual J Then 3 o’clock the real contest that will settle who is the master of the stick 2008! The track looked like this: When you lift the helicopter the time starts, then a 360 degree pirouette, go through the portal, forward flip to upside-down, backwards thru the portal, 360 degree pirouette rainbow over the portal 360 degree, under the portal and land on a helicopter platform, and fastest is the winner! First out, Claes Meijer, he got something like 50 seconds, really stable but not so fast, then it was my turn, I did it on 30 seconds, not too far from ending up with a crash into the plastic portal, puhhh……… and last out whose Daniel, he were really fast! Until the last 360 degree, let’s not talk about that, I don’t think he wants to hear about what happen after that………

Simulator

To day has been a quite chill day, kind of just hanging out at the hobbyfair in Stockholm most of the day.

Then about 4 o'klock I had the opportunity to try Tims Viggen (swedish jet fighter) simulator so ofcourse I did and Wesse and Slammis also took the chance to try the simulator, really fun to just look at them when they are togeter, they are so funny! The simulator looks easy but i can tell that it's really difficult!

So if you are in Stockholm some time I can really recommend you to drop by and try the simulator.

First flight with the Logo

Finally i got to fly, I was pretty nerveous though the Mikado and the V-bar is new to me, but it turned out really well. the perfomance of the helicopter with the V-bar is stunning!!!!! Now it's just to fix the setup perfect so it fits my flightstyle, then it's going to be som serious Mikado rock n roll!!!

Building Logo 500

I got my 2 Logo 500 now and spent all weekend building them together with my dad. Thanks also to Fredrik Melin for expert help with the V-Bar system, what should we do without you?!? Now just waiting for the right weather to have a testfly to see if all the settings will be working!
